Six players from Utah State University were named to the Big West Conference first team in football, as voted by the league's coaches Monday.

Halfback Roger Grant, wide receiver Tracey Jenkins, place kicker Doug Beach, punter Rusty Carlsen, defensive lineman Piliki Tauteoli and linebacker Kevin Bouwman were the Aggies honored. Utah State also placed six players on the second team - guard Charlie Smith, center Wayne Bowers, tight end Ryan Duve and defensive linemen Rob VanDepol and Mark Johnson.League champion San Jose State had nine players on the first team, including quarterback Ralph Martini, a transfer from BYU. San Jose running back Sheldon Canley was named the offensive player of the year while Spartan linebacker Lyneil Mayo was co-defensive player of the year along with Fresno State safety Marquez Pope.
