Sven Gustav Anderson, 84, passed away November 23, 1990 in Sandy, Utah.
He was born May 16, 1906 in Bjorko Vato, Sweden to Johan Oskar Andersson and Albertina Strom Andersson. He married Selma Elida Nilsson in 1942, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Mr. Anderson was a seaman for 30 years, he also served as a sailor with the Swedish Navy. He came to America in 1949. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, and the Utah State Road Commission. After he retired, he worked for 16 years as a school crossing guard. He was very active in the LDS Church, and served as a high priest in the Liberty Park Ward.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. (Inga-Lill) Reese, Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Erik (Valborg) Knutson, Stockholm, Sweden; sisters, Astrid Hoglund and Gertrude Axelsson, both of Sweden; Greta Erickson and Mariana Renlund, both of Salt Lake City; brothers, George, Ragnar, Gunnar and Einar Anderson, all of Salt lake City; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife; a brother, Bertil Andersson; and a sister, Esther Andersson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 27, 1990 at 1 p.m. at the Liberty Park Ward, 445 East Harvard Ave., where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake Cemetery, 200 N street. Arrangements under direction of MacKay Deseret Mortuary.
