Our loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandma, and friend Connie Beckstead Smock, 47, died November 23, 1990 in a Salt Lake hospital after a courageous battle.
Born September 7, 1943, in Murray, Utah to Maurice and Bernice Dean Beckstead. Married Leonard Smock April 7, 1961, in Randolph, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was an active member of the LDS Church, holding many positions. She was an accomplished seamstress. She had an extraordinary love for her family.Survived by husband, Leonard, Riverton; children, Gina (Gary) Cook, Riverton; Lenna (Karson) Lambert, Taylorsville; Doree Smock, Riverton; Elder Shane Smock, serving in the New Mexico Albuquerque Mission.; mother, Bernice Beckstead, Riverton; Brothers, Dale Beckstead, Don (Rhea) Beckstead and Jim Beckstead, all Riverton; Sister, Verla (Mark) Richards, Sandy; brothers-in-law, Raymond (Christy) Smock, West Jordan; Jim Smock, Great Falls, Mont.; sister-in-law, Patti (Pat) Warnock, Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren, Jeff, Renn, Allysen and Isaac; 22 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by father and brother, Dean.
Funeral Services Tuesday, Nov. 27, 11 a.m., in the Riverton 13th Ward Chapel, 12830 South 2700 West. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Monday 6-8 p.m., and on Tuesday at the Ward from 9:45-10:45 a.m.
Interment, Riverton City Cemetery.
