Our beloved brother and uncle Charles Vernon Jackson, age 88, passed away November 21, 1990 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He has now been released from his earthly suffering and has gone home to his loved ones.

He was born February 28, 1902 in Rexburg, Idaho to Charles William and Luella Clegg Jackson. Married Vera Beard on May 9, 1976 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death. Vernon was the oldest of five children when they moved from Rexburg to Salt Lake. Active member of the LDS Church serving in many callings. He loved the Arts; ballet, opera, drama, and contributed to these organizations often. He was a kind and caring person who loved his family and all who knew him. Employed by Sterling Furniture and Quality Press.Survived by a brother; Dr. H. Myrthan (wife Dorothy) Jackson of Salt Lake; three nieces; Marylyn (husband Ted) Midgley, Karen (husband Fred) Beck, Jeanne Jackson, all of Salt Lake; sister-in-law, Norma S. Jackson; and several great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd C. Jackson, Hazen R. Jackson, and one sister Dora Harder.

Funeral services Monday November 26, 1990 at 1:00 PM at the Grandview 2nd Ward Chapel, 2930 South 2000 East, Bishop Norville Craven officiating. Friends may call Sunday evening from 5 to 7 PM at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the Church on Monday for one hour prior to services. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery. Directing: Holbrook Funeral Chapel.
