Trend-setting, hit-making music veterans Johnny Cash, Aretha Franklin, Billy Joel and Quincy Jones will receive the 1990 Grammy Legends Awards from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences during the second annual Grammy Legends Tribute.

The program will be taped before a live audience Dec. 5 in New York and subsequently broadcast on the CBS television network.The Grammy Legends Awards honor artists' creative contributions and influences in the recording fields. Between them, the four performers share a total of 46 Grammy Awards for their recordings: Joel has received five, Cash seven, Franklin 15 (the most for a female artist), and Jones 19, as well as the Recording Academy Trustees Award.
