The Salt Lake trio of Martin Simard, Marc Bureau and Rich Chernomaz recorded multi-point efforts as the Golden Eagles downed Phoenix 6-2 in IHL action Saturday night.
The Eagles' third straight victory boosted Salt Lake's record to an overall record of 10-9-2 - the first time over the .500 mark since Oct. 10, when the team had a 2-1 record.Simard scored two goals - his 12th and 13th of the season - while Bureau and Chernomaz each logged a goal and a pair of assists apiece. Salt Lake also enjoyed one of its most successful power-play efforts of the season, with the Eagles converting on three of nine chances.
Warren Sharples claimed the victory in the net for Salt Lake, recording 32 saves. The Eagles outshot the Roadrunners 40-34.
Salt Lake led 2-1 at the end of the first period and 4-1 at the end of the second period in the fight-marred contest.
The Eagles return to the Salt Palace for a five-game home stand, starting with Tuesday's 7 p.m. game against Peoria.
