Lucy Pearl Lena Olsen Oliverson, age 93, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Monday, November 19, 1990 in Idaho Falls.
She was born October 21, 1897 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah; daughter of Henry Peter and Lucy Ann Spencer Olsen.She served a LDS Mission to the western states in Denver, where she met her future husband, Harold Whitehead Oliverson. They were married June 23, 1920 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; he preceded her in death. Devoted her entire life to raising her family; they were her most important possession. She was always willing to sacrifice whatever was necessary for their welfare. Active in her church, holding leadership positions in Relief Society and Primary and enjoyed the ward choir. Resided in Idaho Falls for the past three years, where she received loving care from her daughters and their husbands.
She is survived by five children, Glen and Francine Oliverson, Smithfield, Utah; Ethel and Hubert Rockwood, Iona, Idaho; Ray and Helen Oliverson, Midvale; Robert and Esther Oliverson, Kearns; Elaine and Orval C. Benson, Idaho Falls; Gordon and Kathy Oliverson, West Valley City; 29 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister and brother, Alice Jessen, West Valley City; Rex Olsen, Mt. Pleasant, Utah. Preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Robb; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a brother and three sisters.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 12 noon in the Preston 8th Ward Chapel, 2nd East and 2nd South, Bishop Reid Carlson conducting. Friends may call at the Webb Funeral Home, Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the mortuary Saturday 10:30-11:30 a.m. Burial, Franklin Idaho Cemetery.
