Richard K. Long, director of corporate communications for The Dow Chemical Company, Midland, Mich., will speak at Brigham Young University Thursday, Nov. 29.
Long will speak at 11 a.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center, as part of the Communications Executive Symposium.In 1967, Long joined Dow as a public relations trainee. In 1971, he moved to Dow Latin America as communications manager. He has also worked in Washington, D.C., as public affairs manager.
While in Washington, he served on President Reagan's Private Sector Survey on Cost Control (The Grace Commission). He returned to Midland in 1984 and assumed his present post in 1986.
Long graduated from BYU with bachelor's and master's degrees in journalism.
