Bill Bronner, co-producer of Salt Lake's Comedy Oasis, calls his upcoming show "Comics Slash Lawyers," by which he means both comics and lawyers, and something with a touch of verbal violence.

"Comics Slash Lawyers" runs Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 and will feature comedians Al Lubel and Tom Sheikman, both former attorneys.Lubel, a former trial lawyer, won Star Search's $100,000 comedy first prize in 1988. Sheikman has recently performed on "Evening at the Improv" on the Arts and Entertainment Network.

"It's a fairly common occurrence," says Bronner about the law and comedy connection. And it's not too surprising "when you see how lawyers have to spend their days." Bronner is also a former lawyer.

The Comics/Laywers performances are at 8 and 10 p.m. at the Comedy Oasis at Bentley's, a private club in the Marriott Hotel, 75 S. West Temple. Admission is $6.
