The Central Salt Lake Council of Churches will hold its annual Advent Service on Sunday, Dec. 2, at the First United Methodist Church, 203 S. 200 East, at 7 p.m.

The diversity of the 14-member Council of Churches emphasizes the diversity of the Christian churches while at the same time emphasizing the unity of the body of believers known as Christians. The service will include Advent music prepared and performed by choirs from member churches in their own styles, along with scripture lessons and prayers led by ministers and rectors of member churches.Members of the Central Salt Lake Council of Churches include: the Very Rev. Jack C. Potter of St. Marks's Espiscopal Cathedral, the Rev. Carly A Marsh of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, the Rev. Dr. Donald H. Baird of First Presbyterian Church, the Rev. France A. Davis of Calvary Baptist Church, the Rev. Robert Sewell of First United Methodist Church, the Rev. Curtis Sewell of Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church, the Rev. M. Francis Mannion of the Cathedral of the Madeleine, the Rev. Roger Bourgeois of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, the Very Rev. Joachim Hatizidakis of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, the Rev. Robert Schrank of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Rev. Kent Ikeda of Japanese Church of Christ, and the Rev. Dou Sub Lee of Korean Presbyterian Church.
