The Salt Lake Golden Eagles, lead by veteran winger Marc Bureau, stymied the Phoenix Roadrunners, 7-3 Thursday night.
Bureau picked up three goals and had two assists in the victory at Veterans Memorial Coliseum. He scored a pair of power-play goals in the second period to give Salt Lake a 4-1 lead and fired the Eagles' last goal with 13 seconds left in the game."I think we executed pretty well all night and we need to cash in on the power play chances. If everyone does his job, we have all kinds of players on this team . . . we have goal scorers, we have grinders, we have defensive players . . . ," said Bureau.
Andrew McKim and Rich Chernomaz also scored for the Eagles.
The Eagles will play the Roadrunners again Saturday night in Phoenix. They return to action in the Salt Palace Tuesday when they will face the Peoria Rivermen. The Rivermen lead the IHL with an 18-1 record.
