Lillian Greaves Larsen, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, age 88, passed away November 19, 1990, at the Emery County Nursing Home.
Born November 1, 1902, in Ephraim, Utah, to Albert and Lorinda Peterson Greaves, the sixth child in a family of 13 children. She married James Wilford Larsen, June 5, 1923, in South Jordan, Utah; later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.She lived in Ephraim, Utah until her marriage, when she moved with her husband to Cleveland. They moved to Los Angeles in 1942, where she worked in an aircraft defense plant as a riveter, until the end of World War II. Upon her husbands retirement they moved back to Cleveland, back to the surroundings and friends she loved so much.
An active member of LDS Church, she has served in many teaching and leadership positions. She had a love for music and sang with the South Los Angeles Relief Society Stake Singing Mothers Chorus. She took great pride in her home and spent many hours working with her flowers and taking care of her home both inside and out. She was a very loving and caring person, and took great joy in serving others. She enjoyed the companionship of her friends in the weekly fun meetings that they shared in each others homes. She enjoyed quilting and all types of needle work. In the last years of her life she spent most of her leisure hours crocheting hangar covers for all of her friends and neighbors.
Survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Max L. and Dora, Huntington; Gordon A. and Martha, Murray; Theron James and LaRae, South Jordan; sisters and brother, Virginia Larson, Anaheim, California; Nellie Alkire, Lakewood, California; Mary Rieben, Salt Lake City; Moyle Greaves, Glendale, California; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; also many nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Arvilla Anderson, West Valley City. Preceded in death by her husband and two granddaughters.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 23, 2 p.m., in the Cleveland LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the ward chapel one hour prior to services. Burial, Cleveland City Cemetery under direction of Fausett Mortuary of Price.
