The crew of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter accidentally fired a Hellfire anti-tank missile and blew up an Air Force ammunition dump, the U.S. Central Command reported early Thursday.

The pilots of the 1st Battalion of the 101st Aviation Regiment were carrying out a weapons system check on the ground Wednesday when the missile was accidentally launched, the military said.No casualties were reported in the fire at the ammunition dump and the military said damage at the airbase was minimal.
