John Van Vleet fired a 2-under-par 70 Monday to win junior honors at the PGA Pro-Junior golf tournament at Rose Park Golf Course.

Van Vleet took low honors in the 16 and 17-year-old category and teamed with Ogden pro Brett Thomas for a 138 total in the team category.Will Huish and Steve Garcia tied for low honors in the 14-15 category with 71s. Brett Wilkinson and Greg Slack were the low team with a 145 total.

Among the 12- and 13-year-olds, Mike Evans, Brent Goodsin and Shawn Jeppson all tied with 81s and Evans teamed with Wilkinson to tie for low team honors with a 151. Wayne Fisher and David Branca also teammed for a 151.

One pro played with three juniors and the pro's score was combined with each juniors score for the team total. Mike Bicker was the low pro with a 67, while Thomas and Mike Kahler both had 68s.

Afterwards, Dennis Walters, a paraplegic, entertained the golfers and others for an hour with an amazing trick shot exhibition.
