Rescue workers have recovered the bodies of all 38 people aboard a small airliner that crashed in a rainstorm on a resort island in the Gulf of Thailand, police said Thursday.

"We have now recovered 38 bodies and we are trying to identify them, " said a police officer at the main police station on Samui Island, 300 miles south of Bangkok."There are no survivors," he said.

Officials of the small privately owned Bangkok Airways said 33 passengers and five crew members were aboard the plane when it took off from Bangkok for the popular beach resort island.
