Ground has been broken for a new residential retirement and recreation community, the Palm Lakes Golf and Country Club, on a site outside St. George known for several generations as Stucki Farm.

Called a "waterscape" community because of an abundance of lakes, parks, streams and waterfalls, Palm Lakes will offer 265 building lots from 6,000 square feet to slightly under an acre in the first phase. The $19.1 million project, when completed, will have 928 lots for custom-built and a limited number of speculation homes on 616 scenic acres of land.Palm Lakes will be the second 18-hole golf course in Washington City and the 10th course in the area.
