A Farmington woman was killed Monday evening and her two children seriously injured in a head-on collision involving her vehicle and a Utah Transit Authority bus.
Meanwhile, a separate auto-pedestrian accident claimed the life of a 10-year-old California boy about 10 p.m. Monday.Killed:
Sally Wight, 24, 1231 S. Cannon Drive, Farmington.
Travon L. Owens, who was visiting his mother in Clearfield at the time of the accident.
Wight was killed when her compact car, traveling south on Second East and approximately 1650 South in Farmington, collided with a bus traveling north on Second East at 5:47 p.m.
Sara Wight, 3, and Isaac Wight, 9 months, were transferred to Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful and later flown to Primary Children's Medical Center. They were in stable condition Tuesday morning.
Farmington police officer Darrell Allen said the accident is still under investigation.
Police said Owens was walking south on 15th East from the Goldstone Apartments at 12th South, wearing a swim suit and tennis shoes, when he was struck by a southbound vehicle driven by Gaylen Holt, 18, Syracuse. Owens was declared dead on arrival after being transported by air ambulance to Primary Children's Medical Center.
Clearfield Police said the stretch of road was dark, and Sgt. R.J. Mecham said the driver of the car didn't see the boy until the accident occurred. None of the other pedestrians or the passenger in Holt's car, his brother Daniel, was injured, police said.
Owens is the son of Dora Owens, Clearfield, and Willie Owens, Salt Lake City, police said.
Investigating officer Randy Slater said Tuesday his investigation into the accident is continuing and no citations have been issued.
