A former Pleasant Grove resident has been sentenced to six months in jail for two second-degree sexual abuse charges but will be allowed to serve the sentence in a jail in Georgia, where he now lives.
Jonathan Jense, 31, was found guilty of the charges by a jury in October. On Friday 4th District Judge Ray M. Harding stayed a one-to-15-year prison term in favor of the jail sentence and placed Jense on 36 months probation. Harding also fined Jense $1,000 and ordered him to pay $250 to the victim's restitution fund.Because Jense now resides and attends school in Georgia, Harding said he could begin serving the jail sentence in Georgia upon completion of his education in June 1991. However, if Jense is unable to make arrangements for his incarceration in Georgia by June 1, 1991, he must report to the Utah County Jail on June 10, 1991.
