Jeanne Elizabeth Jack Jensen, 64, died November 18, 1990 in a local care center.
She was born May 24, 1926 to Dr. Joseph Erle Jack and Edith Forsberg Jack in Salt Lake City. Jeanne married Cleleo Lund Jensen September 10, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Survived by her husband, Salt Lake City; four daughters, and one son, Anne (Michael) Clark, Ogden; Eve (Reid) Thorup, West Valley City; Jill (David) Burnett, Salt Lake City; and Clel Jack (Judy) Jensen, Midvale; and Amy (Rodney) Alston, Salt Lake City; one sister, Julia (Norton) Nixon, Salt Lake City; and one brother, Dr. Joseph Erle (Elaine) Jack, Holladay; and 13 grandchildren.
Jeanne graduated from East High School, and was president of her LDS Hospital School of Nursing Class in 1945; and earned a BS degree from the University of Utah in 1946. As a Registered Nurse, she supervised a new born hospital nursery in Salt Lake City, and at Staten Island Hospital in New York City. Jeanne raised her family in New York City and Tachikawa, Japan, Boise, Idaho, and Salt Lake City.
She was an active member of the LDS Church all of her life serving in nearly all ward Primary and Relief Society positions, and as a Stake Primary President in the Salt Lake Foothill Stake. She filled an LDS mission with her husband in the Rochester, New York Mission, assigned to the Peter Whitmer Historic Farm site, in 1985.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, at 12 noon, in the Monument Park 3rd Ward Chapel, 2200 East Roosevelt Avenue. Friends may call at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 South 2nd East, Monday, 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday, at the ward, 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Cemetery.
