Leland David Candland, would of turned 95 on November 25, died November 16, 1990, at his home in Salt Lake City.

He was born November 25, 1895 in Moroni, Utah to David Harry and Phoebe Mabin Candland. He married Lillian Margaret Poulson on October 31, 1923 in the Manti LDS Temple.He spent his early years and was educated in Chester, Utah and graduated from Moroni High School. He was a veteran of World War I, and was in France at the time of the armistice. He worked as a farmer and retired from Sears, Roebuck and Company. He was a High Priest in the LDS Church. Member American Legion and V.F.W.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lillian, Salt Lake City; son, David A. Candland and wife Mary Ann, of West Valley City; five daughters and their husbands,, Caroldean and Blaine H. Hall, presently serving an LDS mission to the Philippines; Virginia and Cal Warren, Bennion; Winnie and Jim Thompson, American Fork; Margaret and Jerry Little, Holladay; Barbaralee and Ed Martindale, Holladay; 45 grandchildren; 117 great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Candland, Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 21, 1990, at 11 a.m., in the Valley View LDS 3rd Ward, 4101 South 1925 East. Friends may call at the MacKay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Drive, Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. and at the church Wednesday, one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in the Murray City Cemetery.
