Joseph Jensen Miller, age 85, died November 16, 1990 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born October 24, 1905, in Salt Lake City, the 7th of 12 children to Alfred Oscar and Antoinette Jensen Miller. Married Helen Elizabeth Dahlberg on January 24, 1935 in Salt Lake City. She died on July 17, 1990 after 55 years of marriage. Joe worked for many years for Artistic Lighting Studios (later Metals Manufacturing Co.) and there are many examples of his skill and artistry all over the country. After retirement, Joe joined his son-in-law at Karl Winter Co., and worked for another 17 years, retiring 3 years ago to care for his wife. His care and concern for her was truly unselfish and unlimited. He served his country during World War II, enlisting when his age would have granted a deferment. He was stationed in Europe with the 971st Engineer Maintenance Company.

Joe shared what he had generously and willingly with others. If someone needed anything and if Joe had it or could get it, they did not need for long. He never met a stranger-just a friend he didn't know yet. Everybody loved Joe.

Survived by three daughters and their husbands (whom he loved as though they were his sons), Nancy (Richard H.) Winter, Janet (Lewis M.) Evans, Carol (Randall G.) Hale; and 11 grandchildren whom he adored. Also surviving are three brothers, Theodore J. Miller;, Raymond J. (and his wife Faye) Miller, and Richard J. (and his wife Marie); all of Salt Lake; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Clarence (Geneva) Miller of Salt Lake; and Mrs. Alfred J. (Carol) Miller, Los Angeles, California; many nieces and nephews all of whom had a great love for Uncle Joe.

Funeral services on Tuesday, November 20th, at 12 noon, Larkin Chapel, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call Monday evening 6-8 pm, and Tuesday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Murray City Cemetery.
