A Tuesday morning fire in an apartment building injured no one but has been labeled as suspicious by fire officials.

Salt Lake City Battalion Chief Jerry Duke said someone walked to the fire station at 278 W. Third North at 3:30 a.m. and told dispatchers there was a fire in an apartment unit at 338 North Third West. The sole occupant of the burning apartment was sitting in his car outside the building when firefighters arrived, Duke said. The man was not hurt and no other units in the one-story apartment building had to be evacuated.

The fire was under control in 20 minutes, Duke said, adding that there were suspicious circumstances and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
