The U.S. Ski Team's men's alpine squad ended a 10-day Colorado training camp Saturday, naming eight skiers to compete in December World Cup races in Europe.
Heading the list of five downhill skiers is A.J. Kitt, 22, Rochester, N.Y. Kitt enters the season ranked eighth in the world. Also named by Downhill Coach Bill Egan were Bill Hudson, 24, Olympic Valley, Calif.; Tommy Moe, 20, Palmer, Alaska; Jeff Olson, 24, Park City, Utah; and Kyle Rasmussen, 22, Angels Camp, Calif.The downhill team will open with a Super G World Cup Dec. 2 in Valloire, France, followed by a downhill and Super G Dec. 8-9 in Val d'Isere, France.
Slalom Coach Georg Capaul named three veterans to open the World Cup slalom season Dec. 11 in Sestriere, Italy. That team includes former top-seed slalom skier Felix McGrath, 27, Jericho, Vt.; Bob Ormsby, 27, Tahoe City, Calif.; and Tiger Shaw, 29, Stowe, Vt. An additional group will join them in mid-December.
