Dozens of firefighters doused a magnesium fire early Tuesday at a sprawling industrial plant near the site of a deadly rocket fuel blast that shook this community three months ago, authorities said.

The fire at the Titanium Metals Corp. was reported at 1:50 a.m. and was under control by 2:40 a.m.No injuries were reported in the fire that caused an estimated $15,000 damage, dispatcher Melanie Dobosh said. The fire erupted after two ingots of magnesium apparently were placed too close together, but the exact cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
