Wyoming police say a deaf girl from Rock Springs, Wyo., has been missing since Wednesday morning when she didn't show up to meet the school bus, and her mother believes she has headed west to Utah.
Anna Danielle Wyatt, 15, is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall, 120 pounds, with red hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing bleached denim jeans, a pink T-shirt and a denim jacket stringed with leather fringes. She may also have a pink stocking cap and a tan jacket.Police interviewed a witness who saw a girl matching Anna's description picked up Thursday evening by a Green River, Wyo., man on I-80 in Rock Springs. He apparently dropped the girl off 11 miles west at the Green River exit, according to Anna's mother, Melanie Williams. Anna hasn't been seen since.
Anna can read lips, sign, write and has auditory ability. Williams believes she may flee if detained or frightened.
She may be in Utah because she spent her 7th and 8th grades at the state School for the Deaf in Ogden and still has friends in the area. She is familiar with the city and the trip between Rock Springs and Ogden, Williams said.
Officer Reekers from the Rock Springs Police Department said Anna is listed with the National Crime Information Center, which means that anyone who spots her can notify authorities by calling 911.
