HILL AIR FORCE BASE, (UPI) - Maj. Gen. Robert McCoy, commander of the Ogden Air Logistics Center in Utah, has been tapped for promotion to lieutenant general and vice commander of Air Force Logistics Command.

McCoy will succeed Lt. Gen. Charles McCausland, who will leave the command based at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, to become commander of the Defense Logistics Agency, Washington, D.C.

The effective date of the changes has yet to be set, officials said.

McCausland was commander at Ogden Air Logistics Center from September 1984 to March 1987, when McCoy took over the post.

McCoy previously had served as deputy chief of staff for manpower and personnel and deputy chief for maintenance and materiel management at the Ogden command.

Previously, he was director of plans and programs, and later director of maintenance at Sacramento Air Logistics Command, McClellan Air Force Base, Calif.
