The board of trustees of the Utah Economic Development Corp., a public-private group promoting economic development in the state, has voted to change the name to the Economic Development Corp. of Utah.

Kenneth Y. Knight, board chairman, said the name change will be effective Jan. 1 so the organization can use up its stationary and envelopes. Rick Thrasher, president, said the changeover will cost about $4,000.Knight said the similarity between the Utah Economic Development Corp. and the Utah Economic Development Board ruffled feathers and caused confusion so the latter asked UEDC for a name change.
