A new museum has opened near Florence this summer and Rome. In Prato, 10 miles northwest of Florence, the Luigi Pecci Italian Center of Contemporary Art is the first Italian museum devoted exclusively to contemporary art. It is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day but Tuesday.
In Rome a wing has been added to the Modern Art Gallery, which exhibits collections of late-19th-century artworks. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every day except Monday.
