Two additional scoping meetings have been scheduled to allow comment on the Western Area Power Administration's marketing criteria environmental impact statement for Colorado River Storage Project hydro-power.

The first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 28, in Salt Lake City and the second for Tuesday, Dec. 4, in Phoenix.The Salt Lake meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Red Lion Hotel, 255 S. West Temple.

Of the five previous scoping meetings, the heaviest turnout was in Salt Lake City, where 93 people attended. The Golden, Col., meeting attracted 36 people and there were 29 in attendance in Phoenix, 15 in Albuquerque and 38 in Flagstaff, Ariz.

To date, the power administration has received 50 written comments. Written comments will be accepted until Dec. 31 and should be sent to Dave Sabo, EIS project Coordinator, Western Area Power Administration, Salt Lake City Area Office, P.O. Box 11606, Salt Lake City, UT 84147-0606.

In May, the power administration plans to conduct workshops to discuss alternatives developed in the review process. Comments on the draft will be accepted through the end of June.
