Interested in a career in law enforcement? The Salt Lake Police Department plans to hire 25 to 30 new officers in May 1991.
The department will administer written tests on Jan. 12, 1991. Results of the tests will be used to establish a Civil Service hiring register.All applicants must be 21 years old at the time of the test, must have a high school degree or G.E.D. equivalent, must possess a valid Utah drivers license and must be a U.S. citizen.
Applicants who pass the written and physical agility tests will appear before a board. Training will be provided by the police department for successful candidates.
Entry-level officers earn $1,529 per month, paid bi-weekly. Salt Lake City provides 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 12 paid vacation days per year. Other fringe benefits include medical, dental and hospitalization insurance programs.
Test registration forms may be obtained in the lobby of the Salt Lake Public Safety Building, 315 E. 200 South. Registration forms must be submitted by Jan. 9, 1991.
