Eldred R. Hamilton, 89, lifetime resident of Riverton, Utah, died at his home, November 14, 1990.

Born September 30, 1901, to Reuben S. and Matilda Winder Hamilton. He was a farmer and a skilled carpenter. He married Violet Page, March 5, 1930, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Active member LDS Church. Served mission to the Southern States, and later with his wife to Minnesota. Served twice in the bishopric and also in the stake presidency. Temple sealer and Stake Patriarch. Scouter for many years; received Silver Beaver Award. He contributed to the community through the Lion Club, sports programs, and selective service.Survived by his wife, Violet, Riverton; six daughters, Mrs. LaMar (Darlene) Berrett, Orem; Mrs. Richard (Janice) Keeler, Logan; Mrs. Herbert (Carolyn) Klopfer, Salt Lake City; Coleen Grotepas, Sandy; Mrs. Alton (Sheila) Walker, Ogden; Mrs. Ronald (Cindy) Hopkins, South Jordan; 28 great-grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild; brothers and sisters, Ralph Hamilton and Mildred Butterfield, Herriman; Kay Hamilton, Duchesne; Lola Densley, Riverton.

Funeral services Saturday, 1 p.m., Riverton First Ward, 1855 West 13400 South. Friends may call Friday evening 6-8 p.m. at the Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 South 2200 West, and Saturday one hour prior at the church. Interment: Riverton Cemetery.
