The Salt Lake County Commission approved $388,820 to be contracted out by the Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Services to four youth treatment facilities.

The four were recognized in 1988 by the National Association of Counties for their programs in providing a continuum of care from day treatment, residential treatment and outpatient treatment. The funds will allow continued care for high-risk youth between 12 and 21.The funds were awarded by an allocation council by ratings on a competitive basis. Grants are to the Community Counseling Center for outpatient services, $108,226; Valley Mental Health for outpatient services, $29,166, and for day treatment, $118,905; Wasatch Youth Support for outpatient services, $40,404' and Odyssey House for residential services, $93,119.
