Carl Evan "Bill" Moss, 83, former Davis County commissioner, Bountiful City councilman and church and civic worker, died Nov. 13, 1990, in a Bountiful care center after a series of strokes over the past four months.
Mr. Moss was a Bountiful councilman from 1950 to 1954. He had been a Republican precinct chairman and was appointed in 1970 to the Davis County Commission. Counting appointive and elective time, he served nine years on the commission.He was born March 4, 1907, in Woods Cross. At the time of his retirement in 1966 he was state sales manager for Armco Steel Corp., Salt Lake City, where he worked 41 years. He began employment rolling pipe for the firm.
Mr. Moss served as bishop of the Bountiful 8th Ward and as high councilman and executive secretary in the Bountiful Central Stake, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a former member of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, past president of Oakridge Country Cub and a former member of the Bountiful Rotary Club.
Funeral will be at noon Friday in the Bountiful 8th Ward, 455 S. 1200 East. Friends may call at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main St., from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
