A former Salt Lake resident has been elected national president of the Girl Scouts USA at the 45th annual convention held in Miami Oct. 20-23.

LaRae Orullian, now of Denver, had been a board member of the Girl Scouts since 1981. She had held offices of first vice president and treasurer, has chaired the executive and audit committees, and has served on the finance committee. She is chief executive officer of the Women's Bank, N.A., in Denver, holding the highest position of any woman in the U.S. banking industry.
