Our beloved father, brother, grandfather and friend, L. Ray Hansen, 81, died November 12, 1990 in Salt Lake of heart failure.

Born June 15, 1909 in Elsinore, Utah to Louis and Anena Kirstine Andersen Hansen. Married LaVerne Langton, May 27, 1936 in the Salt Lake Temple. She preceded him in death on October 3, 1989. Graduated from Sevier High School and attended the University of Utah. He owned and operated a successful business, Hansens Service Station in downtown Salt Lake for 40 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, being one of the first to explore Southern Utah with his four wheel drive jeep. He also generously shared his Bear Lake cabin with many family and friends. He loved seeing others enjoy the many things he provided, especially at Bear Lake. He was a lover of music, posessing a natural ability with the piano. He was a member of the LDS Church, holding various responsibilities, including 1st Counselor in the Bishopric with the Salt Lake 24th Ward. Through the many challenges and handicaps he had in life he showed great courage and maintained a cheerful disposition. He was a selfless, generous man. He will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 10 a.m., November 17, 1990 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 S. Highland Drive, where friends may call Friday 7-9 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
