Tickets are still available for the Deseret News' 31st annual "Salute to Youth" concert with the Utah Symphony Nov. 20.

Eight young Utahns have been selected to solo with the Utah Symphony in Symphony Hall through a statewide competition. Each soloist was chosen by Utah Symphony music director Joseph Silverstein from among selected Utah State Fair Music Competition winners.Silverstein will conduct the 7 p.m. concert just two days before Thanksgiving. Included on the program will be music of Bruch, Chopin, Weber, Hindemith, Prokofiev, Koussevitzky and Moszkowski.

Soloists range in age from 13-year-old pianist Janae Codner of Provo to 25-year-old soprano Susan Huff of North Salt Lake.

Other soloists are clarinetist Michelle Watabe, Orem; bass player Benjamin D. Henderson, Clinton; violist Leticia Oaks, Provo; pianist Bill Stanley, Logan; and pianist Zhang Qing, Salt Lake City.
