Mary Stovall and Carol Madsen of Brigham Young University's History Department will speak at a Women's Research Institute Brown Bag Luncheon Thursday, Nov. 15.
They will address the subject "Trends in Women's History" at noon in 347 Wilkinson Center, BYU.Stovall, a native of Mississippi, is an assistant professor of history at BYU. She is the former director of the Women's Research Institute and continues to be a research scholar and historian.
Madsen has been a research historian at the Joseph Fielding Smith Institute for Church History at BYU since 1982. She is also an associate professor in the Department of History.
Madsen has published many books and articles. "Sisters and Little Saints: One Hundred Years of Primary" is her first published book, and "History's Sequel: A Source Essay on Women in Mormon History" is one of her published articles.
