After first ordering and then eating his vanilla ice cream cone Friday morning, a man pulled out a gun and robbed the ice cream store.

The man entered Leatherby's, 1872 W. 5400 South, just after 11 a.m. when the store opened. He ordered an ice cream cone and then waited for a group of preschoolers who were touring the store to leave before he pointed a handgun at the 18-year-old clerk and demanded money, a Salt Lake County sheriff's report stated. The gunman then left on foot.
