Brigham Young quarterback Ty Detmer and Utah State's Tracey Jenkins and Piliki Tauteoli have been honored by their respective conferences as players of the week.

Detmer was selected as the Western Athletic Conference's offensive player of the week after throwing for 484 yards and two touchdowns in Brigham Young's 45-14 victory over Wyoming Saturday. He broke four NCAA records, which brought his career total to 16 NCAA records and four ties.Linebacker J.C. Tokish of Air Force was named defensive player of the week for recording 18 tackles and forcing two fumbles in the Air Force 15-3 victory over Army.

Other nominees for defensive player honors were: Alema Fitisemanu of Brigham Young, Mitch Donahue of Wyoming, Mike Good of New Mexico, Anthony Davis of Utah and Steve Rule of Colorado state.

Jenkins was named Big West offensive player of the week for catching six passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns in Utah State's 45-21 victory over Cal State Fullerton. Linebacker Tauteoli received the defensive honor for having 11 tackles and four quarterback sacks.
