Colorado State of the Western Athletic Conference has been invited to play in the 1990 Freedom Bowl against Oregon, the game's selection committee announced.

Oval Jaynes, athletic director at Colorado State, indicated the Rams would accept on Nov. 24, the official invitation date for bowls, a statement from the committee said Monday.The game, to be played Dec. 29 at Anaheim Stadium, will mark the third time in the Bowl's seven-year history that a Pacific-10 school meets a WAC team.

Both Oregon and Colorado State are 7-3 this season.

Colorado State will be making its first bowl appearance since 1948.
