Mima Broadbent Hicken 1914 ~ 2005 Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Mima Broadbent Hicken, age 90, passed away Monday, March 28, 2005, at her home in Heber City, Utah. Mima was born June 21, 1914, in Heber City, Utah, to David A. and Mima M. Broadbent. On June 24, 1936 she married Don L. Hicken in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mima had a heart that always went out to those in need. She cared for several of her nieces and nephews as children. She is a graduate of Wasatch High School and B.Y.U., and taught school in Provo and Wasatch County schools. Many young people were blessed because of her devotion to the learning, teaching, and welfare of her students. She was named "Teacher of the Year" by the State of Utah. Mima was always active in the LDS Church, serving in various callings including Primary, Relief Society, Young Women and other organizations. Some of her other service activities in the church include serving a full-time mission to the Micronesia-Guam Mission with her husband, Don; an ordinance worker in the Provo Temple; and genealogy research. Mima is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Don L. Hicken; two sons: D. Lynn (Jalaine) Hicken of Heber, Dee A. (Judy) Hicken of Salt Lake City; brother, Harvey Broadbent; sister, Helen (Jenns) Jonnson; 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grand-children. She is preceded in death by her parents, nine brothers and sisters, and two great-grandsons. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 31, 2005 - 11:00 a.m. in the Heber LDS Stake Center, 150 North 200 West, Heber City. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. he LDS Church and on Thursday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services also at the LDS Church. Interment will be in the Heber City Cemetery.
