Rocky Mountain Helicopters Inc. will lease five BO-105 helicopters to Helivia Air Taxi Limited of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The $5 million contract coincides with RMH's international expansion efforts, a spokesman said. Three of the five aircraft have already been delivered; the other two will arrive in Brazil later this month.Jim Bianchi, managing director for Helivia, indicated that the aircraft will be used for offshore support services and onshore oil exploration near the Amazon River.
Bryan Burr, vice president of Rocky Mountain, said future agreements with Helivia are planned. "We look forward to a long-term relationship with Helivia in Brazil," Burr said.
Rocky Mountain Helicopters Inc. provides air medical, mining, logging and remote installation support, and it is the industry leader in air medical transport services. It operates a fleet of 88 helicopters and 21 fixed-wing aircraft.
