Kjarulf "K" Jensen died November 9, 1990, in a Salt Lake hospital of heart failure during a very brief illness.
He was born on January 19, 1903 in Imbler, Oregon, the son of Samuel Erastus and Emily Keller Jensen. Shortly after, the family returned to Manti, Utah, where K received his primary and secondary education together with several academic honors. After attending the University of Utah, K married Glenn Eliason in Salt Lake City in June of 1926. After 61 years of marriage Glenn died in September of 1987. K was also preceded in death by a brother, Gail; a son, Karl Reed; and a grandson, Robert K. Dean.He is survived by a sister, Ada Eliason, a son Glade K. Jensen; a daughter, Marion Sybrowsky; daughters-in-law, Audrey G.and Dorothy J. Jensen; a son-in-law Woodrow Sybrowsky; and by seven grandchildren, Katherine Platts, Rebecca Dean, Alison Anderson, Adrienne Heinz, Michael, Christopher and David Jensen; twelve great-grandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews.
K's long career as a professional salesman included an early partnership in Jensen's Department Store, manager of the Utah Poultry egg-processing plant in Manti, now Intermountain Farmers; sales manager of Poehlman Hatchery, Salt Lake; New York Life Insurance Co.; Granite Furniture Co.; Utah Valley Furniture Co.; and Taylor Bros. Department Store in Provo.
He was very active in civic and community affairs and was a charter member of the Manti Lions' Club; a past-President of the Provo Lions' Club; a trustee of the Lions' Foundation, and he received prominent recognition for his many years of service in this area.
A brief funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 14th, at 11 am, Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends are invited to visit with the family one-half hour prior to services.
