George S. Reid, 84, died Saturday, November 10, 1990 in a Bountiful hospital.
Born February 10, 1906 in Clinton, Utah, son of Charles Morgan and Esther Stedman Owen Reid. He married Lavaun Holt December 2, 1925 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died March 20, 1987. He had been owner-manager of Reid Service in Sunset, and also had been office manager for Kent Smith Construction in Mountain Green.He was a member of the Bountiful 37th LDS Ward. Served as ward clerk, bishop of the Sunset Ward, served in the North Davis Stake Presidency, was a Patriarch in the Sunset Stake, and a sealer in the Ogden Temple. With his wife, he served in the Rochester, New York Mission, where they were assigned to the Sacred Grove. He had been a Justice of the Peace in David County and in Sunset.
Survived by five sons, Donald H. Reid, Roy; Charles Richard Reid, Bountiful; G. Stephen Reid, Plano, Texas; Paul H. Reid, Sunset; and Stanford J. Reid, American Fork; 35 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle David, Portland, Oregon; and Mrs. Roland (Beth) Manning, Aurora, Colorado.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., in the Sunset 1st-5th Ward Chapel, 2400 North 250 West. Friends may call at the Myers Mortuary in Roy, 5865 South 1900 West, Tuesday form 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church Wednesday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment in the Clinton Cemetery.
