An Ogden teen died when the truck she was driving smashed into a boulder and a 2-year-old West Valley boy died during a head-on crash in separate accidents over the weekend.
Those killed in the accidents were:Kelli R. Woldberg, 17, Ogden
Robert Brown, 2, West Valley City.
Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. J. Val Jensen said Woldberg was killed and Jason W. Noall, 16, Ogden, was injured in an accident Sunday on Promontory Peninsula 20 miles west of the Golden Spike National Monument.
Jensen said the victims were in one of two vehicles on a rabbit-hunting trip.
The truck was westbound on a rutted road covered with several inches of gravel when Woldberg apparently lost control, Jensen said. The vehicle fishtailed, went off the left side of the road, plowed through sagebrush and ran head-on into a boulder.
Two-year-old Robert Brown was killed Saturday evening when the car he was in crossed the center line and collided head-on with a pickup truck, said West Valley Police Sgt. Steve Coxey. The boy's father, Robert Brown, 23, the driver, was in stable condition. The driver of the truck, Daniel Gonzales, Magna, and his nephew were not injured.
