Two mechanical engineering students at the University of Utah have won the inaugural Safety and Ergonomics Scholarships for the 1990-91 academic year from the Utah Chapter of The American Society of Safety Engineers.

David Bearden received a $1,500 award and Scott Vincent received $500. The scholarships were awarded based on academic record and a short paper outlining the applicant's interest in the areas of ergonomics and safety.The honors were announced by Dr. Donald S. Bloswick, assistant professor of mechanical engineering at Utah and director of the Ergonomics and Safety Program at the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health.
