Wilfred (Red) H. Wheatley, Jr., passed away at the VA Hospital November 7, 1990 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born June 24, 1924 in Los Angeles, California to Wilfred H. Wheatley, Sr. and Florence Jones Wheatley.He served in the United States Navy during World War II and received three Battle Stars and the Victory Cross Medal. He was a long-time resident of Utah and Montana.

He married Sally Archuleta. They have four children, Stan Wheatley, Salt Lake City; Frances Garcia, West Valley City; Florence M. Wheatley, Las Vegas, Nev.; and Mark A. Wheatley, Salt Lake City; he has five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his parents, Wilfred H. Wheatley, Sr.; and Florence Jones Visser; one brother, Heber Wheatley; three sisters, Ruth Cordel, Mary Jensen, and Joan Neuffer; and many nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed nature and had a great love for his family, grandchildren and friends. He will be missed by all his family and friends.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 13. Friends may call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South.
