A Salt Lake husband and wife were reported missing Monday when their homebuilt, experimental plane that left Salt Lake City Sunday did not reach its Wendover destination.

Ron Lillie of the Utah Civil Air Patrol identified the couple as Bruce and Katie Pounder.Kelly Dangerfield of the Cedar City Flight Service, confirmed the plane had left Salt Lake International Airport but failed to reach its destination. An early Monday check of airports in northwestern Utah and Nevada failed to locate the craft. Ten planes were put on standby Monday at noon for the search.

Dangerfield described the missing plane as a red Falco with a low wing and single engine. The plane does not contain an emergency locator transmitter.
