Douglas Godfrey Silver, age 69, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away November 7, 1990 of heart failure following a year long illness.
Born June 23, 1921 in Murray, Utah to Frances Jones and Alice Godfrey Silver. He worked for many years as supervisor for Hi-Land Dairy, retired in 1984. Serving a stake leadership mission, Liberty Stake 4th Ward, at the time of his death. He found great peace and happiness serving this mission. He married Marjorie Rosser, June 22, 1968, Salt Lake City. Veteran of World War II, U.S. Navy. Loved to fish, ski and travel.Survivors: Wife, Salt Lake; children, Milton and wife, Sarah, Charleen Silver Iverson and husband, Bruce, Marrion Silver Garcia, Dian Silver, all California; Kenny and wife, Punky, Florida; niece, Donna Dacre, California; step-children, Tom and Nancy White, Riverton, Utah; Bob and Lisa White, California; Garry and Cindy White, Missouri; Martin Scott Perry, Salt Lake City; George M. Perry, Connecticut; 16 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; preceded in death by his parents, sister, Bernice Silver; two brothers, Jim and Ralph Silver.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 12, 11 a.m., Parley's 2nd Ward, 1970 East Parley's Canyon Blvd. Friends may call Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, Sunday 6-8 p.m. and Monday at the Church one hour prior to services. Interment:
Utah Veteran's Memorial Park, 17111 South Camp Williams Rd., Bluffdale.
