D. Ray Stone, 95, died November 5, 1990 in Salt Lake City.
Born September 23, 1895 in Chapin, Freemont County, Idaho, the 14th of 15 children born to Henry John and Susannah Louisa Stratton Stone. Graduated from Ricks Academy (High School) with high honors. Beginning in 1915 he served a two year LDS Mission to the Northern States. He became a district leader. Married Sarah N. Hibbert in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, August 21, 1918. She died February 13, 1973. Married Esther W. Andreasen, January 22, 1974.Survived by wife; four children, David R. and wife, Beverlee Brown, Logan, Utah; Ruth and husband, Paul C. Lyon; Mary Lou and husband, R. Paul Romney, Salt Lake City; Shirley Storrs, St. George; stepdaughter, Mariane A. Smith; three stepsons, Eugene K., Val B., and Brent A. Andreasen; 20 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; 18 step-grandchildren and 48 step-great-grandchildren; sister, Olive Sterling, Fullerton, California.
World War I Veteran. Spent most of his life as an accountant, principally for Sterling H. Nelson Co., becoming their office manager. LDS Church service included: Sunday School in-service teacher trainer; Priesthood Quorum instructor; Sunday School Superintendent; Gospel Doctrine teacher; ward clerk; bishop; High Counselor; genealogical committee chairman; and ward teacher.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 10, 1 p.m., South Cottonwood 7th Ward, 1260 East 4800 South. Friends may call one and one-half hours prior to services at the ward. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Arranged by MacKay Deseret Mortuary.
